"Da da da duuuhhhhh!"

Atlanta Symphony Hall

Performance Dates

Thursday, May 9, 2019 8:00 PM
Saturday, May 11, 2019 8:00 PM

You don't have to know Beethoven to recognize the opening to his 5th Symphony. It’s an ingenious hook: short, memorable, insistent. And Beethoven spins that famous hook into a high-speed thrill ride. Hear the piece along with music by two Atlanta composers: James Oliverio's Dynasty, a crowd-pleaser written for two exceptionally talented brothers, and Emory University Professor Richard Prior's symphonic poem ...of shadow and light... Hear the Prior and Oliverio before their upcoming ASO CD release.

Thursday evening includes a pre-concert lecture at 7 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall by ASO Insider and Program Notes Annotator Ken Meltzer. Free for all ticket holders of the May 9 & 11, 2019, concerts.
