Strauss and Brahms

Atlanta Symphony Hall

Performance Dates

Thursday, March 21, 2019 8:00 PM
Saturday, March 23, 2019 8:00 PM

Can you imagine the opening sequence of 2001: A Space Odyssey without the music? Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra is mind-blowing. And it's red meat for musicians. Feast your ears on this orchestral indulgence. Also on the program, guest conductor Peter Oundjian welcomes the "utterly astounding" [The Piano Files] Benjamin Grosvenor for Johannes Brahms's barnstorming Piano Concerto No. 1.

Thursday evening includes a pre-concert lecture at 7 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall by ASO Insider and Program Notes Annotator Ken Meltzer. Free for all ticket holders of the March 21 & 23, 2019, concerts.
