Robert Shaw - Man of Many Voices is a documentary film about the life and legacy of Robert Shaw, music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, for over 20 years. Shaw’s career path was highly unusual. Without any formal music background, his career in both popular and classical music skyrocketed, first on radio with Fred Waring, and later at the side of celebrity maestros Arturo Toscanini and George Szell before coming to Atlanta. Here, he grew the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus into a world-class ensemble, winning numerous prestigious awards.

On Sunday, October 22 at 4 p.m., we feature a film several years in the making, and utilizing a vast archive of photo, sound and motion picture images plus rich musical recordings from a tremendously successful 60-year career. The film's narrator is David Hyde-Pierce. You will not want to miss this very special event!
