The Orchestra returns to Piedmont Park for its second of two free concerts. Music Director Robert Spano leads the Orchestra through five beloved works by American composers, including Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances” from West Side Story and the Suite from Star Wars by John Williams.

A Thibaudet Premiere

The revered and ever elegant French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet is a painterly interpreter of the modern canon. Here he gives the Orchestra premiere of a 2011 concerto by Scottish composer James MacMillan. Mozart’s final operatic and symphonic masterpieces enthrall as always.
