violinist
Carol Paine Ramirez, violinist, began her studies in New York with the late Boris Koutzen. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Bennett College and both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. She studied with Eric Rosenblith and Joseph Silverstein, receiving numerous honors, among them the prestigious Weyerhauser Award and election to membership in Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honorary society recognizing scholarly achievement and musicianship.
During her years in Boston she played with the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Boston Ballet and Opera Companies. An active chamber musician, she is a founding member of the Atlanta Virtuosi and has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, the Principality of Monaco and Mexico. Carol maintains a teaching studio in her Atlanta home.
She joined the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1974, and plays on a Joseph DaLaglio violin, Mantua, 1823.
