Trumpeter
Joining the ASO trumpet section this year while Christopher Martin is on a leave of absence, Kevin Lyons actually began playing with the orchestra as needed this past summer. He teaches at Georgia State University and is a member of the orchestras of the Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Opera. As a freelance musician in Georgia for the past nine years, he has played in the Gwinnett Philharmonic, Cobb Symphony, and Columbus Symphony, as well as participating in many commercial recording sessions.
A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Mr. Lyons completed his education at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Unmarried, he makes his home in Atlanta. He enjoys candle-light dinners and long, moonlit walks on the beach.
