Highlights of the last few seasons have included two visits to the Komische Oper Orchestra in Berlin performing Tchaikovsky under Kreizberg and Mendelssohn under Petrenko, performances of the Sibelius concerto with the Bergen Philharmonic to open their season, his highly successful debut at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw performing Mendelssohn with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and in spring 2004 he was Artist in Residence at the 2004 Bergen International Music Festival, where he performed recitals, chamber music and concertos throughout the Festival.

Kraggerud enjoys a fine reputation as leader / soloist of chamber orchestras and sinfoniettas. He is an innovative improviser and composer, and is also an outstanding viola player.

He has recorded three critically acclaimed CDs for Naxos – Grieg Violin Sonatas (with Helge Kjekshus), a set of Norwegian Pieces for violin and orchestra and most recently, the Sibelius and Sinding Violin Concerti with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, which was released in autumn 2004.

Henning Kraggerud performs on the Bergonzi violin once owned by the great 20th-century virtuoso Fritz Kreisler (on loan from the Dextra Musica fund in Norway).
