Music Director Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra opened its 65th Anniversary Season on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The program featured Garrick Ohlsson performing Rachmaninov’s virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 3, and Tchaikovsky’s final composition, Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique.” The evening was full of celebration, as loyal patrons, subscribers, donors and ASO enthusiasts ushered in a new season of music and creativity.
