Educator Preview – Professional Development Opportunity: A free workshop called an Educator Preview is offered to any and all teachers who are bringing students to a concert. Explore the concert music while diving into lessons and instructional strategies that can be used immediately in your classroom. No music background is required.

Study Guide Materials for the 2012-2013 Concerts

Preview the guide for the 2012-2013 Next Generation Concert, The Roots of American Music, by downloading it below. Check back in the coming weeks for updates and additional resources.

The music from your concert is available for listening through the free online resource Spotify, and it’s very easy to access in a few easy steps.

1) Open the link below for your concert.
2) Click the play arrow on any track and a new Spotify login window will pop up.
3) If you already have an existing Spotify account, log in and begin listening.
4) If you don’t already have a free Spotify account, you can easily create one using your email address or facebook login:
a. Click “sign up” (after “Not a user?”)
b. Select your preference (facebook or email)
c. Enter your information, check the box for the user agreement, and click “Continue”.
d. Follow the prompts to download the free Spotify software (click “Run”)
e. Return to the playlist and begin listening.
5) Hint: Click the gray “See More Tracks” button to see the complete playlist.
