Atlanta Symphony Next Generation Educator Preview

For the first time, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Education Department is offering an Educator Preview for the ASO Concerts for Young People: Next Generation Concert! The Educator Preview is a free workshop for any and all teachers (not just music) whose students are attending the Next Generation Concert. The three-hour course will help teachers to prepare their students for the concert experience with a focus on concert repertoire, content from the study guide, and music fundamentals through hands-on activities. Strategies for including Common Core/GPS standards and arts integration in lesson planning will also be explored in grade-level breakout sessions. No musical background is required to attend, so join us for a fun-filled afternoon exploring this year’s theme: The American Journey through Music!

Saturday, October 13 at the Woodruff Arts Center
(for those attending the concert on October 23, 24, or November 13)

Saturday, November 10 at Sope Creek Elementary in Marietta
(for those attending the concert on December 4 or 5)

Saturday, January 12 at the Woodruff Arts Center
(for those attending the concert on January 25 or 29)

All Educator Previews will be from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
