Season Highlights

A new season of great music-making! Join Music Director Robert Spano as we celebrate his tenth year leading the Orchestra. Season highlights include the debut of new concertmaster David Coucheron, new works and familiar favorites, and more innovative presentations from Maestros Spano and Runnicles.

Conducts Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9, with André Watts, and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique to open the season, and performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in concert with Donald Runnicles.

Conducts Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 and the Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss, Jr., Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, and revisits the treasure chest of Bruckner works with the towering Eighth.

DAVID COUCHERON, New Concertmaster

The youngest musician to currently hold the position at a major orchestra, he already has an international career including performances at London’s Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center. “David is a fantastic musician and I’m incredibly excited for our Orchestra and audiences,” Mr. Spano said.

SIGNATURE PRESENTATIONS

Look forward to new works from Mr. Spano’s Atlanta School of Composers and a compelling Theater of a Concert presentation of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.
