Please Note: Hilary Hahn will be unable to perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto scheduled for May 31, June 2 and June 3, as she will be welcoming her second child into the world. Danish born conductor and violinist Nikolaj Znaider will take her place at the concerts. Read Press Release

Trading his baton for a bow, Znaider will take the Symphony Hall stage to perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. A mountain of a piece for the solo violinist, the Tchaikovsky combines sweetness with bravado and soaring melodies. Guest conductor Cristian Măcelaru also leads the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a thrill ride by the 19-year-old Dmitri Shostakovich: the First Symphony.
