Music Director Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra launch the new season with George Gershwin's postcard from the French capital. The swinging showpiece that inspired the Academy Award-winning film and Tony Award-winning musical caps a night filled with American music, including “A Thousand Words” by the Orchestra's own Michael Kurth. Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet is a Parisian in America as the soloist in Bernstein's jazz-inspired Second Symphony.
