This program will set your heart on fire! Stravinsky's magical Firebird is the piece that launched his career composing ballets and is one of the Orchestra's signature pieces, recorded under Robert Shaw in 1979. Concertmaster David Coucheron plays the romantic Violin Concerto No. 1 by Prokofiev, and Music Director Robert Spano conducts.

Free Pre-Concert Lecture on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.

Join Program Annotator and Orchestra "Insider" Ken Meltzer and orchestra bassist and composer Michael Kurth for a FREE pre-concert lecture on Thursday, November 10, at 7 p.m. They will be discussing Mr. Kurth's orchestration of Scriabin's Symphony No. 5, "Prometheus, Poem of Fire," being performed this weekend.
