Until his Symphony debuted in 1841, Schumann was well known for his works for piano and voice. It was his great love, and new wife, Clara, who encouraged him to move into symphonic music and the rest, as they say, is history. Atlanta Symphony favorite, guest conductor Jun Märkl, leads a program of Schumann, Strauss and Tchaikovsky's passionate Variations on a Rococo Theme, with bright young virtuoso cellist, Johannes Moser.
