ASO Concertmaster David Coucheron is featured in an Everest of the Violin Concerto repertoire – Brahms’ violin concerto. The concert also features a new ASO commission entitled A Thousand Words by Atlanta composer and member of the Orchestra’s double-bass section, Michael Kurth.
The program concludes with one of Richard Strauss’ most popular orchestral tone poems, Till Eulenspiegel.
Pre-Concert Lecture on Thursday at 7pm
Orchestra Insider and Program Annotator Ken Meltzer will present a pre-concert lecture at 7pm on the Symphony Hall stage. He'll be speaking with special guest Michael Kurth about his new work, A Thousand Words, his career with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and of course answering any questions from the audience. Open to all weekend ticket holders.
