The world’s foremost cellist returns to Symphony Hall to premiere a concerto written especially for him by a swiftly rising Hong Kong-born composer. Stravinsky’s glittering opera The Nightingale tells the story of the Emperor and the Nightingale in a fairytale Chinese setting. Our semi-staged production features principal singers from last year’s Doctor Atomic, among others, in a preview of the concert the ASO will take to Carnegie Hall in November.
No Late Seating: Please allow enough time to arrive at the hall so that you are seated by 8pm. If you need to pick up your tickets from Will-Call, please arrive by 7pm.
