Atlanta native Jennifer Higdon, a prized member of the Atlanta School of Composers, whose "vivid and attractive works make her a hot commodity" (NY Times), brings home the Southeast premiere of her new work, The Singing Rooms. Co-commissioned by the ASO, The Singing Rooms features the daring New York violinist Jennifer Koh, in her ASO debut. Passionate odes celebrating love Divine complete the evening: the Prelude and Liebestod from Wagner's beloved Tristan und Isolde; Scriabin's justly named Poem of Ecstasy; and from Atlanta resident and former ASO composer in residence, Alvin Singleton, the spiritually charged Praisemaker.
