As Music Director for such legendary artists as Michael Feinstein, Mickey Rooney, Anna Maria Alberghetti, Shirley Jones, Kay Starr, and Lynda Carter, Sam Kriger combines pure technical versatility with a real grace of soul.
Mr. Kriger has been a vocal coach for Disney's feature animation division for 20 years, and has worked with Mel Gibson (Pocahontas), Brandy (Cinderella), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog) and Brad Garrett (Tangled). He has worked with the DreamWorks music department since its earliest days.
Mr. Kriger’s highly-inventive harmonic sense and style and his wide range of musical skills make him much in demand as a music director, conductor, arranger, and pianist. His score for the critically-acclaimed feature film Screenplay underlines his ability to capture both mood and narrative in musical form. He is especially fond of the participating in “pops”-style concerts and his appearances as a conductor/pianist include the Detroit, Hartford, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Jersey, Reno, San Diego, St. Louis, and Syracuse symphony orchestras.
Mr. Kriger has studied with masters such as Albert Harris, Russ Garcia, and Dick Grove. He makes his home in Los Angeles, where he enjoys the privilege of working with some of the best musicians in the world and also enjoys the privilege of being very happily married to actress Diane Vincent.
