Biography

Composer Charles Zoll, a native of Tucson, AZ, is a recent graduate of the University of Arizona, where his professors included Daniel Asia, Pamela Decker, and Craig Walsh. Mr. Zoll’s career received a sudden jolt after winning the Rapido! Composition Contest in 2013. His music has since been performed throughout the United States by fellow students, good friends, and top-level ensembles including the Atlanta Chamber Players, Boston Music Viva, Fifth House Ensemble, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, and Voices of Change. Working with Robert Spano and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has been his greatest opportunity as a composer thus far, drawing on his experience in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s Young Composers Project and serving to propel him onto the national music scene. Mr. Zoll is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
