Carol Ramirez


Carol Paine Ramirez has been a violinist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 1974.

An active chamber musician, Ms. Ramirez is a founding member of the Atlanta Virtuosi and has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, the Principality of Monaco, and Mexico.

She began her studies in New York with the late Boris Koutzen. Prior to her position with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Ramirez played with the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Boston Ballet and Opera Companies.

Ms. Ramirez received her Associate of Arts degree from Bennett College and has both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. She also studied with Eric Rosenblith and Joseph Silverstein and has received numerous honors, among them the prestigious Weyerhauser Award as well as election to membership in Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honorary society recognizing scholarly achievement and musicianship.

She maintains a teaching studio in her Atlanta home, and plays on a Joseph DaLaglio violin, Mantua, 1823.
