Britten's War Requiem

More than 50 years after its premiere, Britten’s War Requiem remains one of the most lyrical, haunting, and beautiful choral works performed today. Robert Spano leads the Orchestra and Chorus in this tribute to Great Britain’s fallen soldiers, among them four of the composer's close friends. Britten wove together poetry and the Latin mass to create a quintessential requiem for the 20th century.
